Nov 4 Release Notes

On Nov 4 a minor enhancement release was completed for the Peer-to-Patent system.

This release contains numerous minor enhancements including the following:
- Redesigned home page layout; move videos to the home page
- Addition of Japanese language video
- Enhancements to expiration reminders for missing prior art
- Remove expiration reminder for issued U.S. patents
- Support for upload of additional prior art file type: TXT, PS, TEXT, ODF
- Other bug fixes

August 29 Release Completed

The Peer-to-Patent system software was updated August 29 and again on September 4.

Included in this release:

• Profiles now display more information about invitations sent and received. This information appears in your own profile only. The system will now show who you have sent invitations to, who you have received invitations from, and the status of those invitations.
• Added an archived applications list, which will be populated after the first applications reach the end of their review period.
• Changed links to applications so that they utilize the Pre-Publication Grant Number instead of an internal database identifier
• Other internal-use changes to support administration of the pilot.

August 1 Release completed

A minor system upgrade was completed August 1.

Changes and new features include:

• The appearance and placement of the hover boxes (floating popup text) has been improved.
• When prior art is edited, the prior art detail page is now marked with a visible timestamp.
• The count of annotations is now visible from the prior art list. Annotations differ from discussion comments in that they are forwarded to the USPTO. This change makes it easier to view the annotations.
• When you click on the affiliation from the profile, the user list is now sorted alphabetically.
• Allow much longer list of Publications on the user profile.
• The "Discuss this Claim" button automatically creates a link to the claim and inserts that into the comment input box.
• Adjustment to how invitations are tracked.
• Improved error handling for unusual registration situations.

July 17 Upgrade completed

A system upgrade was completed on July 17.

Key features of this release are:
- Added credits to a video
- Updated a video
- The video selection from the home page link is now randomly selected
- On various pages, if prompted to login, the system will return to the correct page after login
- Improved display of annotations and prior art relevance for quote and ampersand characters
- Increased the font size of the post comment link on the discussion page, and similar links on several pages
- Fixed several problems related to user registration and login
- Further improvements to page caching and elimination of certain errors

Known issue:
- When posting a comment, if you post a comment twice, the original comment is not cleared out. We will fix this in the next release.

July 9 System Upgrade Completed

Features in this release:
- Fix page caching problems related to Annotations and Editing Prior Art
- Add links to various blogs on the Activity page
- Tweak layout of RSS feed for applications
- Add Explanation / Key to home page Activity Map

July 3 system upgrade completed

Enhancements include
- Support for references and citations
- Pagination of search results
- Fixed Internet Explorer 7 display glitches
- Fixed bug in registration procedure that caused login errors
- Add RSS and Email subscriptions for the Application List
- Fixed page caching bugs related to prior art submission
- Changed approached used to display Illustrations
- Added breadcrumbs to Profile and Video pages
- Community user list is now sorted alphabetically

June 19 System upgrade is complete

The June 19 System upgrade is complete.

Changes in this release include:

• Improved page layout for video page
• Increased word count limit for discussion comments and prior art "excerpt"
• Improved handling of quotes, ampersands in discussion comments
• Simplified captcha data input requirements on registration page
• Fixed page caching errors on application list
• Added "Size of Community" metric to treemap graphics
• Allow removing your own annotation on prior art
• Revised the flash graphic on the front page
• Improved layout for prior art list and prior art detail pages
• Fixed defect causing missing claim text
• Fixed spelling errors on video page
